摘要
This effort is to investigate Cu-based oxygen carriers (OCs) with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in chemical-looping combustion (CLC) process. The conversion rate and migration of chlorine were evaluated in this study. Results showed that the reaction temperature of PVC char with CuO started from about 500 °C which was lower than the coal char combustion temperature. The conversion rate was above 92%, except CuO modified by iron ore which was about 88%. CuO and CuO modified by limestone could react with HCl and left the system with exhaust gas while CuO supported by iron ore and chrysolite showed obvious inhibition in this process. The production of Cu-Cl was mainly from the reaction of Cu2O with HCl. Cu2O may be turned into gaseous CuCl, Cu3Cl3 and Cu4Cl4 which deactivated the oxygen carrier while Cu could not react with HCl. CuO modified by chrysolite showed the best performance with PVC in CLC process which is a good support of CuO. But the main existent form of Cl is still HCl. About 4.54%, 8,87% and 15.37% chlorine reacted with Cu2O in Cu-Ch-PVC system at 850, 900 and 950 °C respectively. Results suggest that CLC is an interesting technology to dispose PVC.
